In 2012, the Composers’ Association of South Africa (CASA) has successfully made great strides in advancing the course of Music Composers by empowering them with tools of knowledge that will help them run their businesses effectively & sustainably.
CASA believes that the 2 Workshops already conducted in 2012 under the umbrella topic, “EARNING INCOME FROM COMPOSING MUSIC”, which dealt with “Music Publishing” and “Dealing with Contracts”, are beginning to enlighten & inspire more Music Composers.
During the month of November 2012, CASA will also be visiting East London, hosted by the Eastern Cape Audio Visual Centre at the University of Forthare.
The next Workshop of the series will take place on Thursday 22nd November 2012 at SAMRO HOUSE, with the focus on “Composing Music for Film, TV & Advertising”. This is an area that most Composers don’t know much about and are constantly wanting to know how it works. This Workshop will help demystify the notion that the area of Film, TV & Advertising is limited only to a few Composers. It will also empower Composers to develop confidence and the ability to negotiate sound and beneficial agreements.
This workshop is FREE to all music composers, however you NEED to register and reserve your space by e-mailing your full name to exco@composers.co.za or sending an sms to 076 026 4379.
